Polls: Dating

I’m 27 and like the title implies, I unfortunately have no friends. Its not like I’ve never had any friends, I used to a majority of it was caused by bad circumstances. Its also caused by me not making any new friends while I continued to lose my current ones. I feel like this has a pretty negative impact on your dating prospects (especially if you’re a guy) because it seems like having no friends is a red flag to a lot of potential romantic partners. And to girls, status matters (maybe not as much as back in high school, but it still matters) and having no friends means your social status is as low as it can be.

I think a lot of girls wouldn’t want to date a guy with no friends because she’ll be worried that he’s gonna become too clingy since she would be his entire social life and that it just wouldn’t work if she has an active social life and he doesn’t have one at all.

I am 33 years old. I am single, multi racial, and non religious.

There is a girl on facebook who is pretty, 32 years old, and a religious catholic who wants to wait to have sex until marriage.

I have a crush on her.

The thing is that we know each other. About 10 years ago we had mutual friends and would be at the same parties and such. We would talk for a little bit but we weren't "close". I went to a different college but we saw each other at parties due to the same network of friends. Does that make sense. So she isn't a complete stranger. We've met and know each other.

On facebook, I am a rather controversial person. I have a tendency to post random thoughts. These random thoughts are philosophical and political. The girl in question has pressed the like button on 20 to 50 of my posts over the last 2 weeks. some of the post have been political statements.

I am also in a rock band. From time to time I post clips of the band practicing or videos of songs I've written on instagram. She likes video clips of me just singing and playing my guitar. Love songs and such. She once commented that I should record one of the songs I've written.

Lastly, I take pictures of the city. She has started liking pictures of those posts as well.

I used to be able to search her on facebook and see the pictures on her profile. As of yesterday I cannot. She continues to like my posts though. Also, she sometimes comments on philosophical posts I make. When I reply she never responds.

What's going on here? Why doesn't she reply to my responses when she makes them? Why is she restrict what I can see on her profile?

I want to ask her out on a date but not if she thinks I am a creepy guy.

First, I don't necessarily agree with his assessment of himself but I've learned not to argue with people about such things. I think he is the kind of guy who is the salt of the earth, who will one day be an excellent husband and father, the kind of guy that a girl will be married to for 58 years until the day he or she dies, and they will make beautiful nerd babies together. But he obviously feels like a square peg in a round hole world and that is a heavy burden!

Anyway. . . do you consider yourself to be one of those nerdy, introverted, socially awkward, eccentric weirdo girls who would be interested in a guy who thinks the same of himself, or do you know of someone else who would date a guy who fits the nerd profile? Even if you are not the quintessential nerd girl, would you date such a guy? Where should my friend look for girls who potentially would be receptive to his romantic interest?

Obviously, I'm not doing it. I plan on dating when I'm a bit older and I want to date younger women since I don't want kids until I'm in my 30s. It's normal in my family, my dad is 12 years older than my mom and my sister's husband is 15 years older than her.
