Female wearing a 3 piece suit, and tie to formal interview?

So I will be going to interviews for my work term in IT, and I was told that it is a formal dress code. I really like the look of the 3 piece suit, and tie I find it really classy, and cool.

This isn't totally what I was imagining, but it is pretty close. If a tie is a bit too much, I am for the bow thing she has on the go.

My main concern is because I have short hair, and I am thinking about dressing more masculine that companies will think that I am one of those whiny SJW "transgender" brats (which I am not).

So do you think women wearing a tie to a formal interview is appropriate?

P. S. I have been told that the companies tend to be conservative.

It’s a lot, with the vest and tie... is this your normal style or have you been through the company before to see what their general idea of “formal” is?
If it’s what you feel comfortable and confident in, then absolutely but if no one else is that dressed up it may change how you feel on the day.
Personally I’d lose the vest and tie but that’s just me 😊

Everyone will be wearing a suit, it's just that I am the only female in my class, and there are probably 2 or 3 other females in the second year of the course so I will standout no matter what I do.

I find the two that you linked to, to be more boring, and I have worn a tie as part of a uniform before, and liked it.

As for style, well I am a student so money is tight. If I were to say what I would wear it would conservative, and comfortable. Think white collared shirt with a sweater. I usually just wear t-shirt and jeans though.

Depends on the company. The tie makes it look like a uniform. I think this looks nice but again you need to be savvy enough to dress the part for the company. If you came in my company to interview I'd be wondering if you had any idea who you were interviewing with.

Lol I'm glad more men voted fine. I wear ties, why not, females could pull off the look and most times I hate the too feminine look, it's enough with button down shirt, skirt and jacket or cardigan lol

I think it looks professional but it can also be viewed as very conservative. I think being overdressed is better than underdressed but if you have the skills and the right stuff I dont think a tie would change anything.

Ditch the tie, it makes it more feminine it keeps attention on your face, not your neck lol.
