Who is smarter: Social Work major or Finance major?

Maybe the question is; who has more heart?
I think that maybe the goals of the two respective majors are different. One is more people oriented, the other is more money oriented. But I would hesitate to decide who the smarter person would be.
I've seen smart bankers and I've seen just as many smart social workers.
Are you trying to decide which is right for you? Ask yourself whether or not you care more about helping people or gaining profit. Each has it's own rewards.

That's an impossible question. You can't compare the two. It depends on what you call "smart". The finance major's smart in terms of some things. The social worker other things.

What you're asking is like me asking: Who is stronger Wrestler or Boxer? It's going to depend on a WHOLE lot of things. :)

Finance major. Because they actually fix something important to a functioning economy and gets paid well enough to cover their degree from the start. Social workers should be people whom have earned enough to pay for the whole degree out of pocket because you’re not gonna be paid well initially.

The smarter person, what you study doesn't determine how smart you are. If you and a friend are studying a social work major and a finance major, the one who thinks that the major determines intelligence is the less intelligent one.
