Do you think working harder or working smarter makes more money in the long run?

Smarter. I've work we d at the same firm for roughly 25 years. Now in the majority of that time I have invested. I have over the years gotten pretty regular pay increases. But here I am near 50 making more annually from my investments than I am from my career job. Now either my firm doesn't pay very well (and to be fair the don't, but they are competitive with the industry), or I've just done very well investment wise (and I have).
This is why we have a population in my country that is evolving into 2 classes. 1. The rich and 2. The working poor. Because I see so many people around me I know that are similar to me in terms of jobs as well as similar opportunities etc. Except that I've been investing the whole time. And I get why people don't do it. Because 10 to 12% annual return isn't sexy. But that's the thing. Once you've amassed 100k you're earning 10 to 12k a year off your investments. Banner years do happen. You'll get an occasional 30 to 50% return on any given year. Let's say you got 200k by the time that happens. You jump ahead by 100k in 1 year. And once yo get to a half million you're earning 50 to 60k a year off your investments. Once you get to that point it's only 10 years to a million at that rate. And once you have a million you are earning 100k a year off your investments. And I don't know where you live. But wear I live that's a comfortable living. Definitely a point atwhich you cab retire.
I've done this for so long now that definitely see the difference in the mindset between the rich and the poor. If you're the working poor your entire day is consumed with making it to payday then the madness starts again. The rich conversely are thinking laterally. It's not just about making money with them. It's about maximizing thier investment.
Warren Buffet famously said, "if you don't find a way to make money why you're sleeping (investing) you'll work till the day you die". And he is so right about this.
Both , being a go getter shows you are dedicated to the job and that you are a team player , most companies will recognize your dedication and will offer you opportunities for advancement , increasing your salary or your job title , I have always been a hard worker and barely ever called off , most of the jobs i worked for , I eventually advanced to a higher salary or a higher position like supervisor , manager , branch manager etc. When a company notices your dedication and hard work , they more than likely don’t want to lose you because they consider
You a great asset. The more experience you receive under your belt the better it is for you to advance or start off with a higher salary
At least that is the way to approach employment. It is great to believe that way. It actually has little relevance to reality. You can work y our ass off and end up being kicked to the curb through no fault of your own..
@pinup_scarlett46 All depends how people see,( long run)
If they want to stay in same career then working smart is better.
If they want to switch and progress into self employee and business. Then working hard is better
In the long run, working smarter tends to yield more financial success. Smart work involves efficiency, leveraging technology, and strategic planning. It focuses on maximizing output with minimum input, allowing for innovation and adaptation to changing markets. Hard work is valuable, as it demonstrates dedication and persistence, but when combined with smart strategies, it becomes more effective. In my experience, those who prioritize smart working methods often find more sustainable income opportunities and career growth.

Of course it does.
But keep in mind that working smarter includes changing jobs, changing careers, or even moving. If you aren't getting anywhere with what you are doing, then it's time to rethink what you are doing.
If your self employed or own your own business working smarter of course. If you work for somebody else be careful if you are smart. You will be the target for people who have only survived from ganging up. Also keep your head down because others are afraid and threatened by intelligence. "Gossip is much better for the ego than facts."
Neither.
Investing smarter earns more money in the long run as does being smart about your lifestyle (such as who you married and how you/your partner spend).
Smarter. Having employees makes me far more money than if I were to only take jobs I could do myself. Having passive income from rental units means I am making money even while sleeping.
Smarter. Hard workers don't always get rewarded but if you're smart about your hard work that is probably the best. Meaning how to advocate for yourself so it doesn't go unnoticed without looking like a braggart.
Both. People notice hard workers. Smart workers can seem lazy because they don’t appear to be working hard.
Working smarter. That’s what my dad always says.
Smarter, There're only 24 hours in a day, Let your money work for you.
Working Smart, I would say. What do you do? Smart or Hard?
Most money is made by strategic oversight and delgation. True story. You think Jeff Bezos runs around the warehouse picking stuff out and putting it in packages?

Doing something smarter wins... almost every time.
First time I’ve noticed the stretch marks on your breasts. Don’t get me wrong, you’re still exquisite, but are you getting bigger, or pregnant or something?
I suppose it depends on the your line of work and what it entails.
Working smarter 100000%… the more your paid for what you know the better
Being unnoticeable doing nothing for a big stupid corporation. Working at all is stupid.
