I hope you understand this especially if you didn’t know what sign language means.
Are you interested in learning sign language? if so, why?

there aren't that many deaf people that I come into contact with so I don't want to learn it. If I lose my hearing I will probably have to learn it though
Okay
I took two years of ASL and it was alright, but I never found it all that interesting so I'm taking French now.
Alright! If you use ASL more often, use it to communicate with deaf people, sing yourself then you will find it interesting.
I would be interested in at least learning the basics so if I happen to need it then I can use it.
Alright that will be good!!!

Not worth the trouble, if I need to talk to a deaf person, I can just open a text app on the phone. Technology has made this skill worthless.
You know most deaf people are not really fluent in English. You easily get headache by trying hard to read their English again, again and again to understand.
You can use sign language to talk to deaf people who are not fluent in English.
But you can choose sign language or a text app to talk to others who are fluent in English. You can still understand them. This communication can be efficient and easy to understand.
I am quite fluent in ASL.
Me too. I’m not American. I know ASL quite well but I still learn it
Its quite similar to French sign language if you are from around there.
