Never met a deaf person therefore never needed to. Though you would think it would be a more important thing to teach in school than french because welp I ain't ever going to use french and more likely to use sign if I ever met a deaf person or went deaf.

Yes I know ASL and I'm learning BSL. My goddaughter is HOH so we learned together. It's a great tool to have and helps in a lot of situations. I think everyone should learn at least some basics

Everyone thought I knew sign because my mother was deaf. In reality she could read lips very well across a crowded noisy room. I used to know few short phrases. Only because of someone I knew from school.
