When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a chef, so I became one. If you have always wanted to be a pilot, then go for it. Did you know that there is only a small percentage of female pilots worldwide.
5.44%
“The Airman Database”, irrespectively of its title, includes a good number of women. But there is still a long way to parity: women account for approximately 5.44% of airline commercial pilots globally. In the USA, about 5.12% of airline or commercial pilots are women.

I might have been a bit stupid but I had no fear of animals and insects and bugs. So I was picking up snakes and spiders in Malaysia bigger than tarantulas with my hands around that age. I even had a pet bat that broke its wing on our porch and I picked it up and made it a pet while I terrified my parents thinking I'd get rabies. I also managed to tame a bear (a small one, mind you, not a grizzly bear) while my friends were freaked out in a forest. So I wanted to be like Steve Irwin, whatever that was. I thought biologist at the time.
I'm impressed with all these can you send me a text?
When I was Really little, like kindergarten I wanted to be a ballerina. When I was a little older in elementary school I wanted to be an artist because that's what I loved best but I somehow found out that artist don't make a lot of money so I wanted to be a veterinarian. I took classes in high school but for one reason or another the dream was like climbing a vertical wall so I switched back into arts where I was truly happy and I'm on my way to becoming an animator now.
Have you ever listened to ABBA's Nina, Pretty Ballerina?

I wanted to have many jobs, that ranged from FBI agent, to astronaut, to city planner (thanks to Sim City 2000), to military faculty, to professional wrestler in the WWF/E. However, almost every job I've ever wanted required me to either be taller than I am now, or good at math. I don't have either one of those gifts and I actually despise math (I went to public school, so I basically was never taught math).
Right now, I'm currently a teacher, and 12 year old me would despise myself for that, as I hated most teachers growing up. At least now, I can understand why. Teaching sucks when the students are bad. And while I was never a bad kid, I was a depressed one in high school, and mainly, went to public school, so... Yeah. Never in a million years thought I'd be teaching, not even five years ago. But free rent, and I only work six hours a day? The pros outweigh the cons of the occasional bratty little monsters.
Professional athlete, football first, but I also wanted to be one of the hockey goons who just fight all the time, lmao. I guess I was interested in dinosaurs so I thought I might like to be a paleontologist. And I wanted to be an archaeologist, sort of... but really I just wanted to be Indiana Jones😂
The reality is that I like a lot of things on the surface, but there’s nothing that I want to REALLY know all the in-depth details of. Like I’d probably have liked fucking around with dinosaur bones and shit, but I don’t want to do anything science-y with them, and certainly not learning all the fundamental science to even get to the specialized field of paleontology.
There was not any single thing I had my dreams set on. It was a lot of things, mostly outdoor jobs.
Forest ranger
Archeologist
Geologist
Oceanography
Carpenter
The only indoor one I really liked was drafting.
I actually ended up doing both drafting and carpentry. I loved both. I even combined the two and did moonlighting work drawing house plans for one of the contractors I worked for.
I used to watch the TV series, "Daniel Boone." So I wanted to be just like him. I created my own name and made a cape to wear.
In high school I always got A's in all of my math classes. So then I wanted to get my Ph. D. in Mathematics and teach math. During the first two years at the University of Minnesota, I got A's in the Calculus classes. When I took advanced courses it was beyond my comprehension. Everything was over my head. :(
A marine biologist.. Then as I got older, I found out I have a fear of the ocean.
But I love sea animals.. Besides sharks.
As I grew up, I decided to figure out what I really like. Now I'm in the process of starting school here soon as a Social Worker :)
I’ve actually always wanted to be a chef. I remember cooking for my brother growing up, and baking. My sister inspired me because she learned how to cook early on, and her food was pretty dank. I mean I’m a much better cook now than she is. Actually I’m leagues better, but I was professionally trained. So whatever.
When I was the smallest I wanted to be a dog or a helicopter. I'm not even kidding. Sadly, I was told that I could never be either of those.
A bit later I became interested in rocks/crystals and wanted to be a geologist.
When I was little I wanted 2 be a garbage man (but when I saw our garbage men outside I changed my mind), then I wanted 2 be a fireman. Later when I get older I wanted 2 make pc games or try them (fix bugs, etc.) then on high school it was a basketball player (few days) and then I realised, that I want 2 be a music producer (which is my current dream) + live in Vancouver :)
I wanted to join RAF like my grandfather, so I did.
I wanted to be a Veterinarian. Then I wanted to be a truck driver. Then I wanted to be a Special Education teacher. My last dream job as a child/teen was CEO of a Fortune 500 company. I ended up doing none of those things.
What did you end up doing? :)
According to my parents it started with me wanting to be a cheerleader. After that a firefighter and then when i was done with that phase i moved to wanting to be a doctor.
Actually, I had the same "dream" as well... but as for why that's no longer the case: for one, the cost for education. with the other being how often you have to be away from home.
I wanted to be a pilot. I was in Airforce ROTC when I was in college. During basic training I failed an eye test and was no longer qualified for the program.
I wanted to be in my military. Then when I was 15, my parents allowed me to join the cadets. Changed my mind after 2 weeks.
I wanted to be a surgeon, a veterinarian, a model, an actress and singer, a doctor, a teacher. . . most of the time, you end up where you should be, and if you do not, well, life has its fun way of guiding you to where you might belong!
Footballer or a painter.. My two favorite hobbies... I wanted to join an academy for any one of them but couldn't... F*ck u mom and dad
You don't have to say that... just keep pushing till you achieve your goal you can do it on your own okay.

A racecar driver more than anything. I was for 18 years before a racing accident put an end to that career.
Me too ! But my eyesight is way to bad!
Now I am studying computer science. Not exactly what I wanted to be as a kid but I actually like it.

As a morgue technician, your responsibilities involve the preparation of deceased bodies for the autopsy and assisting the mortician as necessary. ... Your duties also include recording identifying information, maintaining a patient's morgue file, sewing up incisions, and releasing the deceased to authorized parties.
