Is art school a waste of money?

I am thinking about dropping out of my university to pursue art at an art school. I would at least earn my associates at my university right now. I am very passionate about art and would hate to regret not going later in life. I don’t know if my art would be financially sustainable in the real world as I have never had any customers, nor have I ever sold any pieces. Thoughts?

Ehh, as a liberal arts major, what enables me to get non-art related jobs in times of crisis is that I have a 4 year bachelors degree. I would have to evaluate whatever school you’re going to.

But look at bureau of labor stats, research online. What jobs you would want and what they’re requirements are. Go for your dream but also plan for inevitable hardships.

As long as you have a back up plan. Odds are in favor of it not being a financially wise decision. However, you're young. If you're going to sttempt this, now's the time. Best of luck.

Make your art a hobby, get another profession. If your are successful with your hobby, you can increase your effort and reduce the amount of time you do the other job.

My long time girlfriend was an art major. I really do not know how it ended up with her. She was really talented.

You need to be a professional artist with a good portfolio to make a living. The degree won’t help you

all school is a waste unless you become a doctor or lawyer and when i say doctor i don't mean the idiot "professors" at the university who claim to be doctors because they have a ph. d degree i mean an actual doctor one who examines patients. if you go to any university be prepared to suffer the insane insufferable amount of brainwashing by the liberal nutjobs and how white people particularly straight white males are bad and are the white devil and how republicans and conservatives are bad and evil. be prepared to have all that shit rammed down your throat day in and day out.
