What was the longest time you ever worked?

I proposed a paper to my team and the boss lapped it up and put me in charge of the dev team. I was never in charge before and I was kind of a bad boss. I couldn't delegate work so effectively and so I took it upon myself to sorta do everyone's work.
And this was right after marriage but I spent almost 2 months without hardly any sleep. I was sleeping about 5-8 hours a week. To make up for my bare-consciousness, I wrote a boatload of tests to catch our mistakes.
I have a sample log from that time period. Everyone thought I never slept but I did here and there. But in short bursts.
It took the biggest physical toll on me after we finally shipped though. I was getting cranky about everything going too slow. "Hurry the fuck up!" You know, that sort of thing.
We actually not only shipped our product but I won a Siggraph award. I got into a conflict with a user on here about the need for sleep and I don't disagree with him. But I got an award sitting in my room for pushing myself so hard, and he doesn't.
Actually, that was a most unfortunate incident. He was talking about my safety and making very good points. But I'm talking about being a man willing to fight and die for a cause and we're talking across each other.
I'll disappoint you these days. I've become the ultimate slacker. :-D But if deadlines approach, I can still put on my best.
72 hours
Yeah. 72 hours of continuous work. We were on a mission to clear a village in the middle of the jungle. Because the fire had consumed most of the forest
But I was happy to save people from that fire
Thanks

Longest official work shift I've done is 17 hours. I have maxed out at 114 hours of work in a week and on at least two occasions, I have worked more hours in a month than I didn't (for example: in a 30 day month, there are 720 hrs and I worked more than 360 of them)
Well worked worked like 12 hours without even a break, in a movie theater when they just opened and there were not enough staff members
And studied well two weeks before my final exams, but I had enough breaks in between
our normal is 24, but I have done 48s and even though we are not supposed to 60 hours when we were just out of people.
My record is 100 hours in 5 days, but that rarely ever happens.
I'm glad I was young then.
the longest time I've worked is like 12 hours. it all went in preparing for my 2nd language half yearly exam when i was in 5th grade. at least the cramming was worth it because i think i had gotten like 80% :')
Please don't, please sleep as much needed 8 hours a night, plan accordingly. I like that you are studious I would start few days early if I have to stay awake
Actually the thing is that I'm weak in maths so I need to revise the whole course giving attention to algebra and factorization more. We have 2 days break between exams and those breads are for revision. In the first day I completed Algebra and Factorization completely and comfortably as they are the toughest ones for me. Once I aced that I completed other 6 chapters in second day.
Our body and brain needs as much rest after each episode of hard work too let me put it this way
You're welcome
Stress + rest = progress
And thanks for like!
Sleep is something said to be we can't recover from one night to next, and this is for sharper brain
I would like you to start sooner for next exam so you can put in your 8 hours every night in sleep and study as well as much you want
And do meditation as well if you're not already doing it
Yeah but I need to pass exams with score 95% above too. In my place sleeping for only 2 hrs and studying for 16 hrs is common in toppers. I need to extend my studying time in order to understand the course better and deeply as since 8th grade studies are to be taken seriously. However only for maths I studied more as I'm weak in that. For rest other subjects I can sleep for 5 hrs :)
I think it was 15 hours. But i had to work for like 12 hours every workday with 1 day off a week that time.
8hrs I was helping build something
6hrs studying for tests
yup!
I had to work from office for 72 hours straight, this was way back in 2009 when I had joined the industry just under a year.
Well it was tiring but the situation was like that
Well we had a huge team working those three days, so we could get short 2 to 3 hours sleep per day while the others covered for you during the time
You study really hard dear, your consistency is hard for most of us 🙂
Parents end up saying that dear, I didn't study that hard but will tell my child, just so that she doesn't feel overwhelmed herself 🙂
I listen to my wife tell my child that and smile to myself
🙂🙂🙂
Around 27 or so hours.
36 hrs studying for exams in college
Thanks 😊
50 hours a week, it's all they let me do
36 hours.
I had a presentation for work at the last minute and had to fly to corporate for it
This was before everything went remote and zoom was used for everything. I had to study on the plain and then meet up with others to study for the presentation basically all night
