Trans men room in the men's dorms, trans women in the women's dorms, just like the cis students do.
I know that trans rights had been moving recently, but somehow I never thought about what the situation was at university dorms where students are usually always separated by sex. I have been at my university for 3 years now, and just found out it's allowed here for trans students to room with their identified gender. And I only found out because my girlfriend has been looking into it for an old friend who plans to go here.

COVID has eliminated the need for on-site learning. Society has made academic training into a Social Event. The “College or University Experience” is a load of 💩.
Actually covid sucked for learning. It was a lot harder to complete my classes remotely after we all got sent home. Several classes had to cut big last parts out or curve to hell because nobody was prepared to go online. I was super pissed I had to finish 5 courses online after specifically scheduling them all as seated, and I still don't register for online classes because they're so much worse than seated ones. A lot of my friends are similar. Some do prefer online, but mostly because you *don't* learn as much that way so it's "easier."
Well it's not like the students are children here... it's really more on us than on our parents to object to stuff. I do know you can just ask to be roomed with a different person if you're not comfortable with your roomate for any reason, I know one of my cousins at their university got roomed with someone gay and she just asked to switch rooms. So it's not like any individual student is forced to room with someone gay or trans. I guess if it came down to it and nobody was willing to room with a trans or gay student then they'd just get a single room without having to pay single room prices. 🤷♀️
NO, if I am shelling out thousands of dollars for my kid to go to a school I do not want my kid to be part of some insane liberal social experiment. I would find a different college. There are plenty of them out there.
True, seems like pretty much any Christian college CAN kick students out for being lgbt. Although I don't know if that means they always DO kick them out.
Well i think the problem is that the dorm system just doesn't have a good way to divide people in this current society. It was always just divided by gender and sexuality wasn't treated like a factor.
If that was an added criteria, then you would probably have to make dorms separate based primarily on sexuality (room with only people of a gender you are not attracted to) and get rid of "men" and "women"s dorms altogether. Which could get VERY complicated given the spectrum sexuality is becoming, and the fact that it's much easier for some straight person to lie and say "I'm gay" (how could a university even try to verify that?) to get around dorm rules, than it is for someone to do the whole process of transitioning to the opposite gender just to get around dorm rules.
Well, hang on though, i was talking more about about transgender students but are you mostly just talking about sexuality here? Cause yeah that comes up and there are similar concerns around both, but you seem to just be mentioning homosexuality really. Would you have any problem if sexuality didn't come up, everyone in the dorm was straight, and there was just some trans people?
Really? I didn't know that. My cousin at their university asked to switch roommates from a gay student and she didn't get in any trouble for it. I don't know why they'd force students to room with someone if they're not comfortable with it, even if the reason they're not comfortable the university doesn't agree with.
@TrueConfection My first roommate in college was just plain strange. I tried to get another roommate but the student life office refused. Fortunately this kid moved out just before the end of the semester and I had a friend move in real quick before this kid changed his mind.
@exitseven It's not easy and the school doesn't like it. The easiest way is to find someone willing to switch and just don't bother to inform the school. 🤐
@TrueConfection I had already found somebody else that didn't like his roommate I just had to wait until my weird roommate moved out. I remember coming back to my room and seeing all his crap moved out. He jhad one of those erasable message boards on the door and I saw that it was gone. I had my friend moved in in about an hour before he could chnge his mind
Yeah me either. I was just asking about university. If you'd gone for 4 years and just never thought about it like I hadn't, or if you just didn't go and that's more why you didn't know.
