Passion & hobby or only your ability related job? Which one you will choose?

Related to percentage, do you think we should choose jobs like this :

1) based on our passion, hobby, plus we really like around 60% , although this job can be the most difficult to find 2) based on only our abilities , on which iq is the most dominant , but we still dont consider it our hobby or some thing we like , if you were on this 2nd position, would you immigrate and live in a country than staying in your country that can give no 1 option?

I chose #2 in my life and don't regret it. I was a visual arts and computer science dual major.

In high school, a lot of people thought I was a great artist with my sketches and Oekaki speed paintings like so:

In particular, I seemed to have a knack at around 14 years of age for speed with ballpoint pen and stylus. I never erased and just moved really, really fast. But once I reached university, the top students were so much better than me. I turned into their fans and I realized my own mediocrity.

Meanwhile, I excelled in computer science and published some work that ended up being utilized in Hollywood widely and getting job offers left and right. I went with the most generous of those job offers. I enjoy my job reasonably well now but my passion still lies in the arts, but I think it's better kept as a hobby rather than a job.

I also moved all over the place to accept those job offers as a software engineer. I lived the bulk of my adult life before marriage in company-rented apartments and hotel rooms. Once I settled down with my wife though, I had built enough of a reputation and name in my industry that I could just select job offers that allowed me to work from here in Japan.

The problem with pursuing art is that I was just a big fish in a small pond. There are people just a Google Search away who are so much better than me. I don't think I'm even in the top 10%. Meanwhile, with computer science, I was in the top 0.000001%. I could do it better than just about anyone else I ever met. It's kind of egotistical but I've been programming computers since I was seven-years old. I was never very passionate about it but I was very good at it. So I went with that. And I have lots of spare time now given my job to draw and have fun and do whatever else I want.

It's kind of stupid but I only need to work around 1-2 hours a day now (with the exception of crunch) to match the work of my colleagues who work 8+ hours a day. I'm on a lifelong vacation. If I pursued the visual arts side, I might be struggling just to pay the bills still.
