While teaching is good NOW, by the time you can finish a teaching degree there likely won't be much choice of available jobs. The reason is that since there is a shortage to the point that they advertise for it on TV repeatedly, there will be many people getting teaching degrees in about 5 years. That means there will be more teachers available than there are jobs available. It is a good job. I like it, but I just happened to go to school for it right as the shortage got bad so there are many job openings now. that won't be the case in 5 years.
What kind of job did you want if you got an engineering degree?
And have you looked into how many years it would take and the price of the school?
I was looking into studying mechanical engineering first and perhaps later Aerospace. In one of the three schools I've been looking the most into, they allow doing a dual degrees. the downside would be that it would take a year longer than usual. With it, you can either get a double bachelor's or a bachelor's/master's combined. The other two schools don't offer this program so it would take me the regular amount.
As for jobs, I've been looking into manufacturing more since that's the idea I had at first. I do need to look more into what it's like to go into the research career path, I think it's possible to work in education (university professor) as well. I've heard the education shortage is decreasing in regards to the younger grades already, meaning kindergarten-8th grade, but not so much with the older students. I do see your point and is something I worry about since most sources online don't mention job outlooks for the next 5-20 years.
It’s like you said, you can’t pick a career without looking into it. Experience is the best thing when trying to figure out what it is that you want to do for basically the rest of your life. I started out working in a grunt position in my field during the summer between college semesters. Then I got an internship at another company that was pretty much a glimpse of what work the higher positions got into. My job now is a step up from my internship and I work with what I like to do literally every day. So go try stuff and over time you will start to discover where your interests lie. Also, don’t set your sights one particular job or position just yet. Once you have more experience you’ll discover what you truly want to do, and 95% of the time it lands in the same field but a different position. Be open to some change here and there 👍🏻
i actually would like nursing but i never liked learning about science... politics is interesting but difficult and engineering is just no haha

I have been listening to the billionaires interviews, reading about Finance, economics, Technologies, Philosophy, History and what not.
What I finally realized is :
1. If you are born talented , turn that talent into your profession.
Most of the young successful person we hear, have earned their fortune this way.
2. If you don't have any specific talent , learn a high income skill.
For this , go with Technology or Finance.
FYI, top 30-40% have amassed their fortune from these two sectors.
3. After you gain some wealth , try to find the life's happiness in family, friendship and love. At the end of the day , how happy and content you are does matter.
I have to go with picking the career you are best at, or show an aptitude for.
Teaching or Politics I could be good at.. well actually no I am too opinionated for teaching, and I would be a terrible liar. I tell the truth no matter the consequences and that would make me a lousy politician.. so I'd be good at none of those.
I chose civil engineering as a career. I lack the patience to teach, and have no desire to do so.
My mother is a retired nurse. Keep in mind that you can end up working long, or odd hours. Good luck in whatever field you choose.
Of these options, I'd want teaching or engineering.
Analytical Mathematics while in Air Force. Exactness, both in thought and digits, required.
If I ONLY had these 4 to pick from, Teaching, because I could teach music or recording or comedy.
I recently went into teaching and I really like it so I went with that.
