Can you speak a language other than your first language?

As millions of Indians, I am able to speak three languages. My mother tongue, Marathi, then the languages that were taught in our school. They being Hindi and English.
We were also taught Sanskrit and French, but did not give even 1% of attention to French. Sanskrit was cool to learn, but forgot about it now.
I love how French sounds. I couldn't become fluent in it.
Yeah, its amazing to listen to French, but I really was not interested in it.
But I watch French web series.👍
Mainly English to some degree (Japanese is my first). I also studied Spanish and Mandarin but I barely remember them.
I know a lot of Spanish, but I'm not fluent in it. It's hard to learn another language when u get older. I hear Spanish all day everyday b/c my husband, but I still haven't become fluent! The slang I know very well though.. strange how our brains work. We catch on to the bad words faster than the necessities!
I speak English and Turkish fluently
Moderate amount of French from GCSE, same goes with Latin but that’s a dead language (hence my Latin tattoo)
But that’s about it really

I speak some german, Spanish, korean and chinese (not even close to fluent in any of them though but i can have a conversation alright but with some mistakes, minus chinese where i'm really at a beginner level)
Other than my mother tongue? English, German, Spanish, and a little Russian and French. I'm learning French now.
@Guy__ I learn the grammar first. Unpopular but I need to know how to build a sentence. Then a lot of practice, translating sentences, watching movies etc and yes, I try to speak as much as I can. Even to myself.
For example, I would say what I am doing out loud. Probably my flatmates think I'm mental but whatever.
Also, what really helps when after a while, I go on a holiday to that country.
I'm planning 2 weeks in France now, where I will attend a language course too to consolidate my knowledge.
Yeah, French, English, and a bit of Spanish. I've learned some ASL but have mostly lost it. I'm also studying Hebrew.
Georgian is my 1st language
Russian is my 2nd
English is my 3rd
And I learned Mandarin Chinese at 22
I can converse in French and Spanish, and know a little bit or German and Mandarin Chinese, enough to get me in trouble.
Je parle Francais, en peu
I think I said that right, lol
I speak 3, English, Hindi and Telugu and I'm learning a fourth, Spanish.
Spanish is very useful to know. A huge portion of the world is Spanish speaking. Growing up in school I was required to take Spanish. I never really focused on it or took it that seriously, but later as an adult I ended up traveling to several different Spanish speaking countries. The Spanish that I had learned was very useful and while I did make some mistakes the knowledge that I had went a long way.
@Agagagagaga That's nice 👍
@FancyPantz are u Indian though you mentioned Indian language above..
Not fluently but it's in our school curriculum to learn a bit, plus there's just a bunch of place names etc
Yes I do. English is not my first language. I can also speak Spanish and a little bit of French.
