My coworker laughs at almost everything and I’ve been trying to train her, doesn’t seem very interested in the work. How can I work through this?

A new girl was just hired. I am helping her with a lot of things and while I’m explaining concepts to her she just laughs and it interrupts the process/takes longer. Once I had to be in a call for 20 minutes longer than expected because she was hesitant about sending an email even after I said everything looked good, is accurate, and that she can send it.
This is high finance so we work directly with traders and it is not a place for giggles and putting work on the back burner. I think she’s really sweet so I really don’t want to offend her in any way but I honestly need to establish more standards.
People take their time to explain things and she never asks questions and just, again, laughs everything off or just gets really quiet and expects me to do all the talking.
The other day she set up a meeting but as it starts she’s so quiet and then she goes “Sara, can you take the lead on this?” Right in front of everyone. And says she wants to sit out some of the work I have given her and that I can just send the emails. I have so much on my plate as is and I’m getting tired.
I know this may sound like overreacting but it gets frustrating working with someone who isn’t very serious and meanwhile you want to deliver stellar work while also maintaining a good life work balance.
