My co-worker always smiles when I am around?

His office is near the reception desk, and when I am at the reception desk I can see him smiling when he sees me and hears me talking. He is someone who does not smile often around the office, so I noticed him frequently smiling whenever I am around near his office. I had tried to break the ice a little bit by saying "hi" and "good morning", he reciprocates back but does not do anything more.

We both notice each other around the office, I am usually busy with clients and he is managing his section. So we do not talk at all.

I am not interested in him romantically, I just feel awkward around him. I use to get made fun of by the more popular guys in my old high school, so I feel like I am being picked on or I seem funny to him. But I won't know. I just keep doing my work around the office.

Does he have some sort of romantic interest in me, or his just smiling at random objects in his office?

How do you figure that?

I have had experiences in the past were guys were smirking at me but I wasn't sure why.. but most made me out to be a joke to be a girlfriend. Happened a lot in school, I was referred to as "ugly" by most guys. Sad to say I am traumatised by it now 😅

I dont think he has good intentions this guy.. I try to remain positive by stating "romantic" but I feel like he thinks I am just a joke..
