Why do people like cats?

They are super cute and entertaining.
They are soft, furry, warm and cuddly.
They are affectionate.
They purr.
They don't bark.
They are clean and don't stink.
They are independent and not needy like dogs.
They are low maintenance. They require almost no care aside from feeding and cleaning their litter box. Although they respond to love, petting, and being brushed.
They are good at eliminating rodents.

I love cats, great pets, you can leave them for a day or 2 and they won't notice you are gone, they poop and pee in a box, you don't have to walk them every so many hours in a monsoon, blizzard, or 20 below zero weather.
And they have those cute kitty faces.

They're affectionate, loveable, playful, cute, when they're happy and they purr it's soothing, nice to pet, and being silly with their catself. They can take care of themselves when you're away so long as their food & water dishes have enough in them, and litter box is cleaned out. They'll always be happy when you come home and want your love and attention right away, unless they're curled up sleeping.

Because they're what we should be doing-but don't. They trust their first instinct-and NEVER negotiate it. You get ONE chance with a cat, and that's it. Abuse it... and it'll choose starvation and homelessness over coming back to you. Their instincts are always right.
