Can being constantly nagged into translating as a kid make you hate translations?

Anonymous
Ever since I was 10 years old, my mother and a couple relatives (native Spanish speakers) used to make me translate all the documents; even hard insurance policy information with elaborated sentences and terms. Or my father who knows enough English and can interpret better would still say ''(my name) translate'' and give me a long letter. It wasn't even a favor but an order.

Just because I'm now trilingual (English, French and Spanish), most think I should be great at it. I still don't know how to explain some words and even hate translating. I hate teaching English to non-speakers; I don't have the patience nor desire to either.

Can getting nagged into translating as a kid make you really hate it?

Some of my relatives would say ''You'll be a good translator''. LOL
If I were good at it then I would've already enrolled in the major, work at it and get promoted in higher translation positions don't you think!!! I never studied that major and have no interest in it.
