What is/was it like working at retail?

The reason why I am asking this question is because I am willing to quit my job at the car shop and work at a place where the environment is much better and the boss is more consistent with paying me

The filter between my mouth and brain is gone due to working in retail. I'd suggest finding something that does not involve dealing with the general public.

The pay is also minimum wage. 🤪

I say try Walmart or any of the other stores you mentioned. At least you will get paid regularly.
