How do you feel about adding ASL to the school curriculum?

I don't know if I'd mandate it, but I'm certainly supportive of adding it as an option; evon just learning the alphabet (26 one-handed signs you can practice while you brinh four teeth!) will quickly teach people the value in commuication you don't need to speak to use.
And given the tough go of things deaf people have had over the past two years, it'd be a good start on an apology.
There is just not enough opportunity to warrant ASL.
HOWEVER, if the school district does have a foreign language requirement, I think it would be great if ASL was an option for that.
That would be nice. Sign language is a much more useful thing to know than all the other useless crap they teach in school.
