Im still in the interviewing process and wanted to know if I were to express interest in another specialty, would that be looked at negatively?

I applied to a company and had a phone interview with a recruiter. He said they have spots for the position I was interested in daily at different locations owned by the company/university. I got an interview with the manager of one area and I have a job shadow coming up.

I wanted to let him know that I was also interested in another area for the same position and to see if they had an opening now. I feel the other area would really be a great fit for me, especially with my past experience. Would that be frowned upon? Would it make it seem like im flaky or indecisive?

Unless he's in charge of the other area too... that'd be a horrible idea.

he's not in charge of either. He's just the recruiter, so he forwards my info to the managers and sets up the interviews for you. The other person I interviewed with was a woman.

Then go for it…that’s what his job entails anyways, finding the perfect candidates for the correct position.
