Ladders can be very dangerous, so I've researched ladder safety.

You should always face the ladder and maintain three-point contact by keeping one foot and two hands on the ladder. Make sure your footwear is in good condition and don't hurry or jump.

Also, I think you should have a loaded gun ready in case someone forces you to use a ladder. There were only 7,698 homicides and 2300 accidental shootings with firearms in 2022, so I should be safer with a gun.

It's supposed to be a 1-to-4-to-3 leaning ratio (1' out for every 4' up, and the ladder top should be 3' past the top landing) when using the type of ladder shown (an extension ladder).
