How do I stay safe?

I’m considering meeting up with a man who won’t tell me how or where we know each other from, only his first name, which doesn’t ring a bell, that he’s autistic and that he knows me. He told me not to worry and that I’ll know him when I meet him. That sounds ominous to me, though. On the other hand, I’m really curious. How do I stay safe, if I decide to meet him?

Meet in a very public place, use the buddy system (preferably with someone who looks scary, but anyone will do), do not leave food or drink unattended with him, and absolutely do not under any circumstances go to a prearranged second location.

My sister almost got abducted and gang raped last night because she met some guys she thought were cute at a Vegas nightclub and they offered to take her own a limo ride. Soon as I showed up, a few of the guys got angry and started problems.

Set whatever rules will make you feel more comfortable. Don’t meet him until he tells you who he is and sends you a selfie. Choose a safe place to meet if you decide to go through with it. Have an exit plan including what you will do if he follows you. Usually driving to the nearest police station is best.
