How to focus while studying and what do you do if you feel sleepy when studying? Any studious people?

I have a difficult time studying because adhd so I take meds which are stimulants, however, even with meds I have to have something else to help me focus and stay awake.


First things first, I usually eat “brain foods” which are just foods that are known to boost your brains functions, I guess. Foods like blueberries, eggs, apples, nuts, fruits and veggies, crackers and cheese. These keep my brain energized and my body fulfilled, it keeps me awake.


Then, I usually make sure I have an environment that I know helps me focus. Sometimes people study best when in busy or loud places, which can also keep them awake. Sometimes people study best when they are in a silent or comfy room. Find your “study place” and set up there. I prefer a quiet, comfy place when studying so I go in my bedroom.


I have a very active brain, so I need some background distractions to help me focus I guess lol. I either put the TV on with low volume, or I listen to music on my computer/phone. I study while listening to music with lyrics, but some people do better when it’s just instrumental music. Instrumental music makes me sleepy, so I listen to lyrical music that is uplifting.


Well, if your issue is getting sleepy while studying, I hope you aren’t studying early morning or late nights… That will make you sleepy, of course. However, studying is boring, so it can put you to sleep fast. I suggest you take some caffeine. Dark chocolate, coffee, tea, energy drink… Something to keep you awake while studying.
