Giving my boss an ultimatum before I decide to quit. Ever been in this situation?

Basically an employee is the absolute worst and treats everyone with attitude whenever they please and when it gets brought up to the head honcho, she just brushes it off because she hates confrontation.
I work to damn hard to be treated poorly.

So, I can either handle it my way when this employee acts up, or the manager can take proper action with this employee, or I'm quitting. Plain and simple.
Ever had to give your boss an ultimatum?

Or have you ever quit because of terrible behavior?

Don't talk to your boss or quit. no need for that. just confront the asshole head on and don't care about the consequences. Personally that's what i'd do, or i'd start being a bitch to them back/slightly picking on them (you could also do that. it's more soft than out of the blue confronting them). You could also talk bad shit about them with other people who don't like them in ear shot (that will humble them) or collectively decide with some other people to stop being nice to them and ignoring them. that also works

It doesn’t matter where you turn, you are always going to be running into toxic people from inside your own family to friends to coworkers. I distance myself from toxic coworkers and I usually wait for an opportunity to let them know how I feel. If they ever need a shift covered, I decline. If they ever need help, I lag behind and put in minimal effort. You can also confront them and let them know how you feel but you will make them even more toxic by approaching them. You have to annoy them little by little. It all adds up.

I worked for a place that paid a 10% night differential when you worked at night. I often worked nights and they always tried to cheat me out of the night differential. I told the boss about it 3 or 4 times. I knew he was doing this on purpose to see if he could get away with it. I told him if it happened again I would quit. It happened the very next week so I went into his office and told him I was quitting. I was getting sick of the place anyway.

Talk to a different manager. If he or she doesn’t do anything, you can quit. If you don’t want to quit, you can try and avoid that particular employee. 🤪

Employee relations are difficult. Sounds like your boss is non-confrontational or afraid of this person. Can you describe the employee? What's her relationship to the boss & company?

She just graduated high school and she acts like we're her peers, meaning she has a lot of attitude for no reason. She's a sales lead but got promoted when the manager was on maternity leave by the district manager. I don't believe the district manager has met her even more than once, she promoted her solely based off of her time there which she's only been here for about a year and a half.

Have you tried talking to the employee yourself about it?

Well me and her have been in this situation before, and even though I didn't like her I tried to break the ice by offering to buy her lunch and she started being friendlier. But now out of the blue she has attitude again and I can't deal with this wishy-washy behavior

Is there someone other than your boss, who you can turn to about this? Someone higher up perhaps.

There's a district manager but I've never even met her

Well your boss is of course off-base for not wanting to deal with it. Perhaps try a different approach with the boss and have a meeting of sorts, to see if the two of you can come up with a solution to the problem. If she can't handle a friendly meeting like that then maybe go over her head.
