Any real life hacks as to how to complete a presentation on time?

These are all key.
The timing of each section and watching the clock and rehearsing are absolutely essential.
If you have cue cards in your hand that can keep you on track as well with the things that MUST be addressed at each point as a minimum.
A suggestion at the beginning of "please hold all questions to the end" can preclude a question asked in the middle and eating up your time. If you are very familiar with the material, questions shouldn't be an issue but when asked in the middle of the presentation they can throw off your timing and make you rush key points. Instead of focusing on the presentation now you have to also figure out what has to be left out because now you're short on time.
Instead of answering someone who asks a question in the middle of your brief, ignoring your request to wait until the end, remind them that "I'll take any questions that you might have at the end, thank you" and keep on going.
If it's your boss you might have to deal with questions anyway, so know what you can drop.
***Now, you have key points that need to be made, eliminate the probability of questions by anticipating questions that might arise and addressing those potential issues WITHIN your presentation. If you can cover all the key elements and be thorough enough to anticipate probable questions... that's a good brief.
No questions at the end mean you either covered everything wonderfully OR no one really cared anyway.😳
Lastly, target audience analysis. Who are the key targets in the room?
Do you know about their position on the issues at hand? I'm not saying to kiss their ass, I'm suggesting that you cover the key elements and address issues that THEY think are relevant. It's called "red buttons". Red buttons are issues that one is fearful of or highly concerned about. As you cover key issues you add mitigating factors that will keep things safe or minimize waste/costs in the course of the brief so they never get triggered, you've already addressed their concerns.
Good luck, bud.
Thank you, sir.
You can control what you're going to say and how much time you take to say it. And also you can rehearse a lot of times before the day.
