What did you study and what do you do now for work? Was college worth it? Any student debts?

I studied engineering.
I have a BS in Civil Engineering, structural engineer, and a Master of Engineering in Material Sciences.
After graduating I went to work for a mid-size city in SoCal and rose through the ranks to become the City's Principal Engineer- the supervisor of all engineering and surveying staff. After 29 years on the job, I took an early retirement in 2013 at age 53.
Was college worth it? Yes. Did I acquire student debt? Yes.
My student loan ran for ten years and was structured so that payments for the first two years were relatively small and then gradually increased each year. Since my salary was increasing every year (salary step increases and promotions), this was ideal.
In the end, I got a loan which made my going to grad school possible, and Uncle Sam made a few bucks in interest. A win-win for both parties.
No debt. degreed, and degreed again and work in Business sectors International, and another thing

I majored in computer science. I am a Systems Administrator and an adjunct professor. College was definitely worth it, I had a crappy sales job before I got my degree. I had no debts but I had to drop out f school twice because I ran out of money. It took forever to graduate.
I didn't have the opportunity due to how there was no government loan options when I came of age.
I've been working since I was 14 or so. I'm at the point where I might get an online BA just to open more doors, but it's not really necessary except as a means to overcome class discrimination. I'm already doing work that uni grades do just fine.
Sometimes I wonder if I should just lie on my resume about having a BA just to stick it to those elitist hr fucks. Sigh.
I studied auto mechanics. Now I'm an electrician. I have no school debt.
