Does any work actually get done when you work for yourself/on your own time?

See this is why I said I could never handle being my own boss. My current job feels just about that way... The sups dont give a shit about us so we hardly hear from them, but they give us an 8 hour schedule to work. They tell us to try to meet certain goals but its ultimately up to us to achieve them.
Meanwhile, I’m over here freestylin and goofin around. If it wasn't that, I’d be dancing to music or watching shows. I mean I hated my last job but I love that it kept me in check. Rn, I’m procrastinating like a mf.
I put in so much effort back in school/college, but in the workforce, I stopped giving af after seeing how they take advantage of the hardworkers and overachievers. And man this new job’s check is only like half of what my old job paid, so I’m like really not doin shit now. I miss my old work ethic. #FeelFreeToList #iPutTHEproINprocrastinating #ImOut

Like the rules are to get so many clients and sales by the end of the day. They didn't make rules for how many to do by the hour. If so, I’d try harder. But I dont reach the invisible hourly goal and I sure as hell don’t reach the end of the day goal. My mind is too set on quitting this job by September tbh

I can't procrastinate at my job. It's very technical, and everything has to be done at very specific times.

That being said; getting everything done quickly gives me plenty of time to dick around, and answer questions about procrastinsting, while I'm waiting for the next thing I can do. 😂

I thrive working on my own and prefer it that way because it is easy to get distracted. However I don't have the ambition or driven to be an entrepreneur and do my own business.

If it came down to running my own business I probably would have a liquor store.

I do. I feel with someone over my shoulder or on my ass is micromanaging and it really pisses me off and disrupts my flow. In my eyes it shows lack of trust and competence in your employee

Yeah it does. Me personally Im self employed, I got a couple different businesses all which I personally run on a daily basis. Some are more hands on that others. Some just require an hour or two of work to keep them going. I can go into details if interested. But truth be told its incredibly hard to concentrate on getting certain tasks/jobs done. Its even hard to find the physical motivation to get anything done. But it does immensely help that I know it directly affects the money I can collect. As stupid as it sounds I usually find a couple hours a day to go the local library to study and get some online business stuff done.

Lol yeah I get that! I have always been afraid of working for myself because as a teen I had a low accountability job and literally just jacked off all the time because thought about pussy too much. It’s not uncommon for me to be left alone at a plan with stuff I gotta get done and I always get it done.

and when it comes to my own stuff if it’s important it gets done. If it’s small stuff it’s just a whenever kind of thing.

I get plenty of downtime because it takes time for things to render, compile, transfer, etc. And sometimes I just have to wait for non technical reasons.

Not anymore I'm a truck driver now, when I used to be a chef, I used to get the job faster because some people used to be working slower, so if I wanted to get the plates out fast I would have to do work that normally I didn't had to. Now as a truck driver, I don't really need to do anything, if I have a problem I just call my company and they resolve it fast
