Yeah, I was bouncing at a bar when I first started playing semipro football back in my 20s. I’m trying to remember the exact details, but I think it was just that I needed Saturdays off for games, and they had some younger kid take my spot for the season. When the season ended, the general manager who I was cool with just gave the shift back to me, and took the younger kid off. I felt bad because I thought they’d just find him something else, but I guess there was nothing else, so they were just like “sorry, buddy, we’ll call you if we ever need a sub.” And I think he did sub a time or two, or come in for a really busy night like St. Paddy’s Day or something, and he was talking about being let go, he really had taken it personally, like he was hurt. He was like “Is it because I’m short? Do they think I’m too small?” I felt bad, I mean, he was a smaller guy, but very fit and was a wrestler, it’s not like he couldn’t hold his own. Then he kind of faded away, but then reappeared as a bartender like two years later. He definitely had changed too. He was a good looking kid, kind of pretty lmao, and he was now cultivating this metrosexual look with a faux-hawk, and at least according to him, he was in full man-whore mode😂 Actually, after I had left that job but was still attending parties with some of the staff from there, I thought I caught wind if some kind of herpes outbreak, like some chick slept with two different dudes, and one of those dudes slept with two different chicks, I don’t know if it was a scare or if everyone got it or what…. glad I wasn’t there😅 Anyway, I guess the supposed original spreader was this kid I’ve been talking about. I hope my taking my shift back from him didn’t send him into a tailspin and cause him to start sleeping around and doing the whole cool guy shit, but I guess I’m dealing with a kid at 19 and then at like 22, I guess that’s a period where change like that can come anyway. I remember him claiming he had slept with 200 chicks or something like that. I’m probably overthinking the hell out of this, lmfao, but I’m just saying losing his shift really shook him up, and I always felt bad about it, but I needed the money back then, I was out of college by then and just a working stiff, so I just let the seniority and favoritism play out for me.

Somewhat. And I agree because I consider myself to be on good terms with everyone I work with, but when I got promoted and others didn't a touch of bitterness was added where it wasn't before.
