What do you personally do to keep yourself focused or motivated at work?

I’ll usually listen to music but today I’m talking to my clients in different accents lol. I’m wildin rn lol!! I’ve officially lost it!! But yesterdays check was so disappointing that I give no fcks today! At least my supervisor and coworkers find what I’m doing to be entertaining

I remind myself of my financial goals such as the saving, emergency F-- you fund, 401K to reach a certain amount, trip I want to save up for, how I need the money from the 9 to 5 to finance my side hobbies, etc. but if I remind myself of all of that and I still find myself unmotivated to be consistent then I know that it would be time for me to plan my exit.

Talking in accents with clients? Thats new and very to do.😆

To the question, nothing. I tell myself to suck it up or when it's really not going well, I mostly just act like working but instead I will do something else and work more the next day, to get my time in again

I don’t tend to drift on the job. My job is interesting, difficult and, frankly, dangerous. So i rarely get bored and losing focus can cost me my job or my life. It could also result in someone else getting hurt or killed, or the destruction of expensive equipment. The stakes are high, and that’s where i get my focus in the highly unlikely event that i am doing something so repetitive that i can drift even a little.

For me personally I always focus on my future. For a while I technically retired but decided to come back to start some other business and branch out. I dont have much family or people that keep me motivated, I kinda really do because of what Proverbs 13:22 says, “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children.”

Super difficult at times but I'm a Methodist so I am pretty good at zeroing in on the task at hand. For those not of the same cloth I suggest Chinese Red Pannex Ginsing in those little vials you drink with a tiny straw Amazon or Ebay has them and I highly recommend it cause it keeps you super focused while giving a little boost but is still healthy and holistic as I do with my sacrament. If I remember right it's like $20 a box of 20 or something In fact I should start back myself. by the way the accent thing is fucking hilarious after my divorce a number years ago I was sleeping with this gal and I would just start carrying on and on in a British accent to her before sex, during, after made for fun foreplay. 👌

I've always liked working and what I do. That's motivation enough. Every now and then there are days that I don't feel like going to work, but for the most part I enjoy going to work. I go there and work because I like doing it. If I didn't like it I'd quit - in the past that usually happened within a few days to a month.

I read books to increase my concentration time. And then I use this increased concentration time to get my work done.

I use separate google accounts to not mix the entertainment with my studies.

Since I use YT for both entertainment and studies (90%), I need to stay focussed on my studies with no entertainment involvement.

Haha! This is brilliant! I am horrible with accents because I can’t control them all the time. So like I have a good amount of friends from Oklahoma and Tennesse but every time I am with them I find myself talking like them. I'm part Irish but I canna do the Celt accent.
Ironically, I can do Ralph Fiennes (M) and could have it down in a month of living there.

I do an hour on and a hour off. I get so bored if I take breaks like I'm suppose to. Luckily there are to many people to keep tabs on so I can get away with it. It helps I have a partner in crime who covers for me (and vise versa) so nothing implodes while on break.

Depends how horrible the day is.
If I'm annoyed with the people, I use a Rubik's cube. If it's not that terrible, I open another taskbar and search for a potential house to buy ( even tho that's not gonna happen anytime soon).
