Unless you plan to buy a house or want to get a car loan, you really don't need credit. Credit cards are convenient but are not vital. I think I was around your age before I got my first credit card. No one person's finances are the same as another's. Manage your money as you see fit.

Yes, you need to build a good credit score for later in life.
You can't get a loan, buy a car, an apartment, house, any major purchase that requires a credit rating.
We have friends that paid cash for their house, they own it free and clear.
They couldn't get a loan for something because they don't have a credit rating.
Go figure.

If you ever want to buy a property you do. And if you want to order anything online you typically need a credit card.

And it’s nice to have the safety net there if you need it

Do what you want I guess, but I don’t understand why people are so scared of credit cards. There are no fees if you pay it off and I’ve got enough points on mine after a year and a half for a round trip flight to Europe. Credit cards are awesome

Credits are the bait of banks to make us dependent on them.

No we don't. Loans sure for expensive stuff like houses. But not regular credit.

No they don’t. I had to get one for credit report but still use cash…
