My boss gve me some advice today. I want to try to heed it. It might help me.

Well, I'd suggest figuring out what topics you enjoy discussing and which you're okay sharing with your coworkers.

Maybe health and relationships are off the table, but your recent trip to the farmer's market or your most recent hobby endeavour could be good.

Another good way is focus on your coworkers, ask them questions and get to know them. Offer small tidbits of info on yourself in return.

I'd also suggest therapy, as hiding yourself in a way in social situations is often an indicator of something else. A therapist can also help you figure out what to be open about and what not to be open about.

Why not? You're hurting yourself more than anyone and it sounds like you need the help.

It's pretty normal to know how to open up, so there's obviously something that you need help to process.

Plus, they'll actually help you. Versus on here, where users probably won't give you solid advice.
