I did at a nice Mexican restaurant when I was in college, I worked the busy weekends, usually Friday through Sunday and I made decent money. Sometimes $400 to $600 a night in tips.
I ended up leaving cause the others were lazy butts, that liked to just talk and play on their phones and ignore their tables. They were pushing the manager to switch to section tips so they could get some of mine, cause they used to think I was getting too much and they weren't getting enough.

Never. Only as a chef in the kitchen..

Wait.. i think i had before
But it was buffet, i was like standing behind the menu, and it was meatballs thin soup, the guests can pick the bowl filled with meatballs and another condiments, and we pour the thin soup onto the meatballs so it served warm.. and we dont have to walk around the guests tables and just stay there to pour soup only..
What to call this? Buffet waitress?

A Waiter YES, a Waitress NO! I had a side job when I was in school as a waiter at a small restaurant where I lived at the time & it was wonderful but a lot of work. Every night I came home smelling like a kitchen & it was well worth it because they fed me every night & paid me under the table. I made a lot of money, had a lot of laughs & made a few friends as well. There were nice customers & rude customers & no matter what I learned to kill them with kindness anyway.

  I’m glad to know that you were never a waitress lol. And staying kind is definitely the best way to deal with things at any customer service job, but especially one where you work for tips!

No, and don't want to. I heard the salary is too low, the customers can be jerks, and it's just not a good experience for most people. When I imagined myself being a waiter, I always feared about dropping that big plate with smaller ones or drinks on top of it.

Yes. It was hot, sweaty and tiring! I was temping in a really busy cafe from early morning until late afternoon. Most punters were great, but a very few spoilt it by being assholes.

I was a waitress. The restaurant didn't have any uniforms left in my size so I had to wear a pair of ladies pants and a ladies blouse

I was a busboy. It's brutal. You're either doing nothing, or everyone is screaming at you at the same time during lunch or dinner.
