Is it weird to ask out waitresses and if you did how did it go?

Kind of yeah. I used to be a waitress and myself and my female colleagues would always receive unwanted comments from men at tables and it’s really awkward because you feel like you have to be nice since you’re working, and then have to continue serving them the rest of the shift. The worst one was when a table of guys asked me to rate them out of 10? Like wtf? (I was 15-19 when I was a waitress).


Chances are they will likely find it weird and awkward, and go back to their colleagues and ask them to start serving you instead. Maybe it would work with some people though I guess it depends.

I always have felt really awkward about asking someone out who I meet while she is working in a public position. I mean, they are there as their job, and shouldn't be subject to the possibly unwanted attentions of their customers.

There was once a waitress at a place I used to go to with co-workers for lunch that I used to comment on. One day I let my office manager leave a note as if from me asking if I could get her phone #. After that, she never waited our table there again, which I don't think was coincidence.

Yeah, I feel ya man, I also feel like your summary there is probably something that appeals to me especially, that ultimately, it's better or at least for me to me that I'll just stick to dating apps than me ask out a stranger especially in that sort of setting or any setting. It can come off as weird. I’m a server and I always hear stories of dudes asking out my coworkers and they always feel uncomfortable by it

however i do have one coworker who’s in a relationship with someone who left her number at his table so it can be successful at times 😅

I could believe that especially, also and believe that part at the end also... hmmm... I'm guessing the moral of the story here is, and can I ask would you say this would be the likely answer, that *even if* your female coworkers were single adults as you are, 20s, that they'd stick to dating sites and dating apps, not flirt with customers right and risk their job? That's my thinking logically, for both parties involved, better not to ask, and better not to flirt, and everyone out here just stick to dating apps. I feel like dating apps are the only safe spaces for the purpose of agreeable strangers wanting to be on dating apps for the purpose of adults wanting to date other adults, than give their number to stranger or ask a stranger their number, in real life, am I right?
