Is it weird to ask a waitress to show you her face?

It's not only weird, it's rude and you risk getting her in trouble!
I'm pretty sure most restaurants and public places require ALL employees to keep a mask on at all times around customers for safety concerns. Meaning if she pulls her mask down just so you can see how "cute" she is, if her manager sees, she might get reprimanded... because of YOU.
Don't be that idiot.
Order your meal, be polite to her, tip her, and go about your way. If you like her so much, ask her does she have a picture of herself on her phone or social media (with the exception of myself, most women have at least one selfie or picture on their phone). If she's comfortable enough, she might show you.
Words of gold as always! @Cynicaldreamer
@HawkPerception Oh hi Hawk! I haven't seen you in a while: I hope you're doing well~
@Cynicaldreamer Always uninstalling and reinstalling this app haha. A lot of people on this app are annoying enough to keep me at bay, but hearing opinions from people like you always brings me back or helps keep me around :)
Yes. And if you were an SJW and demanded she show you her face and she took off her mask and did it, you'd probably try to get her fired from her job for "breaking safety protocols" and being "irresponsible" and all that other sh*t. And if you asked and she didn't do it, you'd probably accuse of her of being rude and "disrespectful" and not want to tip her or something.
So it's best to not even ask; you don't have the right to know anyway. I'm ugly, so me not having to show my face is a good thing, however, even my eyes are ugly and look like a drunkard's, so it doesn't help that much. I'm so glad I don't really go out to eat much, and NEVER did in the US. I hate that whole waiting culture.
Dude, really?
Risking the spread of COVID just so that you……………………. can see if she’s cute?
I’m almost speechless. I wish I hadn’t seen this question. I didn’t have any faith in humanity to begin with (since people are selfish, irresponsible idiots), but this. Wow.
What a coincidence! A few hours ago, my husband was telling me and a waitress that her eyes resemble those of his cousin. She immediately recognized his face & voice too. So, she pulls down her face mask. It turns out that she's that cousin he was reminded of. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The restaurant manager on duty told her she can take a long break so she can enjoy the "family reunion" with my hubby & me. We invited her to our home after her shift ends tonight. My husband is excited to catch up with her tonight, even if it's late, past midnight.

Yeah don't do that.
She's there to serve you your food.
So what if she IS cute? You going to harass her? Hit on her? If she isn't are you going to degrade her and be unsatisfied with her service?
Let her do her JOB. Her face has nothing to do with it.
Yes, that's weird, annoying, and lowkey gross.
I had a cute waiter once who wore aviator sunglasses every time I visited that restaurant. Did I ask him to take them off? Of course not! The aviators didn't even (necessarily) serve a purpose, but the face mask does. Respect her boundaries and place of business.
It's not weird, it's shitty. What the hell are you thinking?
I'd be more diplomatic, but this is an anonymous place. That means you can change your ways without feeling slighted. Don't do that; and think about whatever way of thinking made you want to do that, and stop that way of thinking.
I get it but its inappropriate to ask someone who is just trying to do their job to do that. Maybe you could just ask for her IG because you think she's cute and then see her from there? 😅
Yes, and not only is it weird, it's rude. The waitress and/or waiter is there to serve you food, take your order, and hopefully make a decent tip in the process. They are not there to flirt with you, feed your ego, or show their face - especially with Covid raging around the world. So don't ask!
I was asked this before at work and I was slightly offended but I didn’t care. I’ve done it before and I told the guy to pull his down as well. Turned out he was attracted to me and I wasn’t attracted to him. It doesn’t work in everyone’s favor so I wouldn’t suggest asking that question.
Some people have asked me to remove my mask so they can see who they are talking to or they will say you are so pretty from your eyes but I can’t see the rest of your face (as if they want me to remove it lol) some people will just take their mask off as if they want me to follow suit. I’m not a waiter but this is what I’ve encountered from enter acting with strangers.
Why would you want to see the face of a slave? They choose to listen to their masters and want to be lower than human beings. They don't want to be free men and women like the rest of us. They were born with freedom and they voluntarily gave it up to serve their slavers.
What the... literal fuck.
Yeah, you've been reported. Go let your dad fuck your asshole, slave. 😊
Man, She's just working... leave people alone and let them drudge through her work day same as anyone else. Besides, ask anyone who's ever worked in a service industry what the odds are that she's as nice and or PC / polite when off-shift (or when in the back)... HAHAHAHAHAHA
It’s happened to me a couple of times, and I personally feel awkward when people ask me that. Part of me thinks it’s sweet that someone wants to know what I look like that much, but at the same time the way you approach it can be VERY weird (2 new coworkers followed me around asking to see me without a mask…that was very** weird!!!). If you want to know what a girl looks like, instead of asking her to take her mask off-ask if she’s on FB or IG. Hope this helps! :)
This may be the single most depressing question I've ever read on this site. If seeking a degree of human interaction with the humans you interact with has become weird, then all I can say is "stop the insanity, I want to get off".
I understand how you feel. And I guess I am in the minority. Wearing a mask, for what ever reason, dehumanizes people. The US is more like China. I remember when we had a free country and we respected different opinions. Now we treat people that think differently as demonic and that is pathetic.
That is creepy. She is at work and you abuse your position as customer to induce the illusion of attraction because if she rudely refuses you could complain to manager and ruin her job so she must be polite even to such creepy requests.
well, it may come off as strange but also her job is not to entertain you, with her looks.
it is her job to serve you and not be hit on.
try to be one of those men who try to hit on a waitress they meet every day. but you should also know she may not be able to take her mask off either.
It's inappropriate for starts. Whoever is behind the mask doesn't matter. All you're doing is just putting yourself in a position to judge them by their looks and not their service.
Don't be a moron
It's not only weird, that could get her fired if she actually pulls her mask down. Restaurants require servers to wear masks as a condition of employment... for the safety of staff and customers.
Why don't you just be a gentleman if you chat her up and use your wit and charm maybe you can get a fucking date and then you'll see her without the mask on and then if you're that superficial about her looks you don't have to ask for a second date
Its smoother to start an innocent feedback about how now everyone's smiles are gone. Or ask one if there ever will be days that real life smiley faces can be seen?
This is giving her the idea to show her face and smile to you.
Yes extremely weird and extremely rude. If that happened to me I'd be creeped out for sure.
