Unless you’re a regular like frequent once a week or more and always order the same thing. That’s one thing.

But. I mean come on. You’re taking probably 100 peoples order. Obviously something had to have stuck out to remember so clearly a random order

I waitressed in high school and college and remembered customers that I saw only every couple months. Sometimes it was because of their orders. For example, this one guy rarely came in when I waitressed but always ordered a ham and cheese omelette, with French fries (not hash browns) and a side order of mozzarella sticks. Sometimes they were just friendly and a pleasure to serve and other times I remembered them because they tipped good 😂😂

That’s true it’s easier if someone’s in all the time especially if they order the same thing.

It’s just if I don’t tip super high. Aren’t in there all the time and never really order the same thing.

I actually worked at a restaurant a few months ago and i also remembered some orders, not because i liked them or were attracted to them, but because they just stuck at random, its simply a coincidence. Or maybe she wants tips🤷‍♀️ men r the easiest to get tips from

I guess to some degree she knows you're a "frequent flier" at a place. I'd remember one or two clients' orders back in the day and ask if they'd like the usual or if they're in the mood to try something different. It gives the person a sense of comfort like they're home.

I am a croupier at a casino, which is a tip-based job, so I will speak to that.

We flirt and taught to "present the illusion of availability while remaining unavailable & unattainablr"... this gets us paid. We also learn names, preferences, and tendencies of our regulars, both good and bad. I know that when a particular player leans in to give me a tip from spot 7 any time I bust, he gets a clear view of my breadt with how my buttons on my shirt fall unless I wear a safety pin... I make a lot of money off of him, if I see he's at one of my tables, guess what, no safety pin.

I also know which of my baccarat players like their $100 chips broke half half or 50/50 between $25 and $5 clips, which like 75/25, and which like a stack of singles. ... because of this, they tip, and I remember,. We also remember the assholes.

Yeah I’m not saying that. Plus I can generally tell good professionalism and general friendliness.

Fake flirting. That’s over the top and obviously being done for tips.

And genuine interest… that one’s difficult too because wait staff had to remain professional. So brazenly asking someone out could backfire especially if a customer turned them in. Be it the one they hit on or another one that’s jealous.

I’ve hated fake flirting that’s too disgenuine and is frankly uncomfortable. Especially when you’re taken or worse sitting on a date with someone.

Luckily I haven’t had that problem too often though, I’ve seen it happen to others. Fake flirting can also be used to cover bad service.

Not refilling drinks or returning to check on the table. But acting flirty when the check comes…. That doesn’t work for me.

Real flirting most of the time isn’t over the top. It’s usually more discrete in ways. Such as asking more personal questions lingering longer.

Which… Even for fake flirting if you’re not that interested you will visibly become uncomfortable fast standing around someone you’re not interested in.

If you’re not seeing signs of high discomfort. That can be a good sign…. Or just has became more comfortable in public.

The worst part is…. Creeps. You have to be nice to creeps. Because the creepy customers will turn you in if you shut them down or don’t play the part they want.

They will say you were rude. And then management will yell at you if you don’t have good managers.

I like it when management will cover a table for you. If you become uncomfortable. Same for male servers serving very drunk women.

Especially if service was basic. Also if I feel uncomfortable by over the top flirting. I’ve tipped lpw.

Genuine professional and prompt service. That’s where I tip 25 percent and higher.
