Does the waitress like me?

Getting a late dinner at my regular diner the other night, I noticed that I was making eyes and smiling with the pretty waitress-in-training following my server in what seemed like (in my extremely novice opinion) more than standard "be nice to the customer" behavior. She even looked through the shelves and smiled at me as I was leaving. She was too busy following her teacher, so we never got to talk. Is this just wishful thinking, and if not, how can I approach her without putting her in the position of rejecting her customer if she's not interested?

it seems like she was definitely physically attracted to you especially if she was looking through shelves. I would say.. if you happen to go back.. talk to her politely and just ask her if she would like to go out for coffee when she's not busy.. I'm sure you'll find out if she is interested or not then. if she says no, then it was just something that happened at the moment and if she says yes.. then coffee it is. :)

She's trained to be nice to customers! don't put any weight on this, and watch out or you'll get charged with harassment! If you're REALLY curious, write your number on the receipt and show it to her when you hand it to her, but leave it at that.
