The future is here & when you go to a restaurant you order from the table or a smartphone & instead of a waiter or waitress bringing you your food a robot does. Robots are friendly & you don’t have to tip them however if there is a computer problem a waiter or waitress may have to save the day.

A robot, because wait staff is useless, rude, annoying, don't do their job most of the time, and expect you to pay them $20 for all of that. I don't like any of them and I've never supported (American) tipping culture. F*ck all of 'em! They are exactly why I never dined in, in the US, to begin with. I'm not paying someone twenty bucks to be a lazy rude asshole the whole night! Or for any other reason!

I not only support robot waiters and do-it-yourself touchscreen kiosks, but I'd be willing to invest my own money into them if it means far less entitled lazy assholes whining about "only 20%" for a tip when they have no actual job skills, to begin with. They can all learn to code! Have the robots put them ALL out of work! 🤖

I'd rather ONLY either a robot server if dining in, or order my food to go, like I previously been doing.

Great answer & I rather a robot as well. The second the food is ready the robot delivers it & you don’t have to wait for a real person to deliver it. As for tipping I noticed the wait staff never introduce themselves & they take your order & someone else brings it & your original waiter or waitress expects a night tip.

The idea of someone doing the "very bare minimum" for their low-skill job that kids and literal monkeys can do, and expecting you to reward them for that (especially considering it's *optional*) or they'll spit in your food or try to "cancel" you on social media, is insane to me! I'm from the US and I still never understood how absolutely retarded tipping culture is!

And I've never seen any genuinely "nice" wait staff either (not that I myself ever dined out; I'm talking about other people dining in, or looking into restaurants from the outside), cause they all hate their jobs and are entitled little sh*ts who are usually under the age of 25 and expect you to pay them big money for the most minimal effort required, and already know most people are too cowardly to not give them big tips. It blows my mind how idiotic that whole scam is, let alone how it's even legal.

I still refuse to use “self checkout” registers in stores. It’s wholly unfortunate how few people realize the damage they’re doing to their local economy by supporting businesses that cut the LOWEST PAID employees first. The ones who are actually PRODUCTIVE. I love self checkout. The '90s were cool when you didn't have to worry about your groceries being improperly packed, even the '00 decade had separate people bagging, now it's the cashier doing two jobs. Do they properly pack? Do they double bag? Nope. The art of bagging is now a lost art. I rather do it my self. Plus I don't have to stand in line, whilst waiting for my bags to fall apart on me.

Which is fine, but I'm not going to be peer pressured into giving some low/no-skilled worker $20 for doing the very bare minimum of their job. I've always said wait staff need to be paid fairly, but for as long as people buy into the BS tipping scam, the managers will never be held accountable. And frankly, I'm not spending money on some BS like carrying food from point A to point B and working a total of three minutes at my table within a hour.

@MCheetah I have met some wonderful, smart people who waited on us. They also have reasons for what they do. I supported our restaurants and restaurant workers a lot more during Covid and I tipped them more knowing the restaurant may close the next day. We are all trying to survive, if I can help I would.
By the way, we were served by the robot in Italy. We didn’t have to tip in Europe the 6 weeks we were there.
Tipping is a US thing. I enjoy chatting with them, that’s one way to know who they are. Or be nosy about what’s going on. 😂
I never have bad feelings about anyone or anything unless I sense danger.
Otherwise, I live with the attitude with joy and gratitude.

It depends, which one is faster and better? I've learned when dining in, to order when they ask for Drinks. If I say give me 5 minutes to look at the menu, they take 20 to come back, cause they went on their rounds.

Which I get, as I was a server, I can't do nothing for 5 minutes... got other customers too.

Like most businesses the slowest aspect of service is customers.

Ever been in a drive through line when the person in front of you is talking in slow motion? taking 20 minutes to order cause they don't know what they want and they sound high?

I have, lots of times... usually its them asking one of 20 kids one at a time what the kid wants and the kid has to then decide.

If a robot is faster, I'm all for that... but chances are, some fool is going to take forever doing something and the robot is going to get stuck there and possibly have to reboot to get unfrozen 😂😂😂

Like everything in life & like a roller coaster somethings have their ups as well as downs & I’m sure robots like people have their ups as well as downs as well. As for me when I journey out to a restaurant I like to be in & out & honestly once your food is ready I’m sure the robot will being it faster instead of it sitting in the kitchen waiting for a server that is busy with another table.

Hope the robots don’t get a virus & throw a pizza at you.

I think the robot is adorable, but I think I'd miss an actual person taking my order. We already have touch screens in fast food places, so it's made it easier for me to order off of that than make the cashier wait until I have my decision. I do go up to them when I want a special drink though (mocha, slushy, etc.).

I had a meal from McSilly the other day & great name for it as well. The lobby was actually closed & I went there months back & it was all touch screens however there was a cashier if you wanted to order at the counter as well. There are jobs however it’s like no one wants to work.

I’ve never been to a robot restaurant however I have been to a restaurant where it had touch screens at your table or a barcode you scan on your phone. You order & a runner brings it.
