If you like photography, keep doing it. However that profession is highly competitive so be sure to have a back up plan.
You should join a photography club. Most cities and towns will probably have one or more clubs. There will likely be some pros in the club and you can learn a lot from them. You can learn all the tricks, and learn what makes a good photo and what doesn't. They may have monthly contests you can enter and get good feedback.
You also need to study the technical aspect. You can do that formally, or get it from magazines and books.
There are also a lot of online forums and groups.
So bottom line is that there are plenty of sources to learn and grow as a photographer.
How good are your darkroom skills?
Anyone can take okay pictures, but it takes skill to master the darkroom, the film and the chemistry
I am a Master in Film Photography for over 30 years.
My speciality is landscapes and trick photography.

The pictures are good but that’s a tough industry because computer technology used too…at least in shoots etc
No.
No idea why you think otherwise. When you've failed the basics they would teach in a photography class.
Maybe as a press photographer, but not as an artist.
