[RANT] Already feel unhappy before starting new job?

I am supposed to start tomorrow and I got the job offer early last week. Anyway, I don’t feel welcomed. I haven’t been put through to my line manager. I don’t know where to go (I found the address on Google), who to ask for when I arrive and what attire I should wear and how to prepare. Nothing. It feels empty and I am going tomorrow like I shouldn’t be there. Hell, they didn’t even tell me what time to come in! The recruiter who found me the job at an agency told me to check the contract. I mean is it me or is all that unprofessional and not a good impression. I feel there should be a welcome email with all the details and my line managers contact details. In fact, she should be emailing me by now not my recruiter…I must admit I am not happy about the start already and I am really hoping I get this offer tomorrow.

I have another potential job offer tomorrow with a company that I am very interested in. Also, big company want to interview me and I still think they would be a great addition on my resume. I am thinking to extend my start date from tomorrow to Wednesday and see what happens.

is it me or am I just overreacting and should just simmer down?

If I were in your boots I’d just use the fact they are very cold and unwelcoming to possibly to not even bother going. You do not want to end up tied down by a toxic employer. Trust me on that. You’re waiting on a potential job offer tomorrow and you got an interview for another. I mean if you like you ace your interviews and you’re generally a likeable guy then don’t go or just extend your start date.

The guy who hired you or is supposed to give you the info sounds lazy, or he just knows it's a high turnover rate and doesn't want to put much effort into the new guys. But yeah I'd still say go in with a positive mindset and see how you like it. If not go for that one you're saying you're interested in

You are not overreacting at all. But stay at this job until you have signed papers on the other job you want. Don't take any risks.
