What are the pros & cons of starting a non-profit?

I want to start a non-profit & I would love to know the pros & cons. Please be positive ;)

Are you talking about a non for profit charity? As the other person mentioned raising the funds will definitely be challenging. Most peoples like myself these days won't donate to charities even if they claim they are not for profit because majority of them lie and say they are non for profit when they aren't and a big percentage of the money that people have donated how gone directly into the ceo and managers pockets and not 100% towards the charity.
