Are there are business you WILL or WILL NOT patronize because of their policies or support for causes? ?

I'll give you an example. I do not shop at Walmart, Starbucks or Amazon because of their anti-union policies. I do not patronize Chick-fil-A or Hobby Lobby because of their anti LGBTQ policies and promotion of Christianity.

I cannot say I am perfect in holding my values (I use google products for example) but I try my best. I don't want any discussion of "Made in America" bullshit because it's simply not true no matter what the corporations say and not the purpose of the question.

Hahaha! There ARE products made in the USA though. I take it you’ve never worked in manufacturing.
I boycott a lot of places, actually. I boycotted Wendy’s when they burned all of their employees’ healthcare benefits when the ACA was implemented. I boycotted Chik-fil-A for the same reasons you did, but i eventually tried it because i met several people whose politics were even more extreme than mine and/or they were part of the groups marginalized by the corporation TOLD me to try it. No joke! They all said that the food quality and customer service is next level. So i tried it. It was good, but i generally don’t eat fast food anymore so i haven’t gone back. Also, it was delivered, so i can’t attest to the customer service.
I boycotted Wolverine footwear because they closed up their shop in Michigan and outsourced their production overseas.
YouTube is the only google product i use anymore. I’d gladly give it up if someone could recommend a quality, unbiased alternative with adequate quantity of content.

I don't outright boycott companies, but there are companies that I avoid. Let's just say they are the opposite reasons you have.

I love anti-union companies because I hate unions with a passion. I love anti-LBGTXYZ companies, and will intentionally go there if I know about it.

However there is still some overlap. I don't shop at Amazon for different reasons. I couldn't care less about the whiny employers who think they are underpaid. I don't shop there because they have become too much of a monopoly, especially in the online world.

I used to avoid Walmart. But now I shop there because they are a well-run company with good house brands that are WAY cheaper than anyone else, and usually better than the name brand products. They are also one of the few companies giving Amazon a run for their money. Amazon seriously needs more competition.

Nah, it's impossible to avoid. 90% of all rare earth metals used in electronics come from slave labor and illegal mining practices. If you pay taxes in America you contribute to the military industrial complex that ruins nations. All money ends up dirty one way or another.

Honestly there are a lot of companies that hide their shady practices / behavior behind Conservative & Progressive political brand messaging. We should look into why they donate to Anti Abortion organizations, BLM, etc. It isn’t “woke” or “right”, let’s investigate all of them when they put political messaging then find the truth. Nike showed “Pro Women” messaging then made it where maternity leave wasn’t available to women behind the scenes.

I try to shop locally but at the end of the day if I really like the product or convenience I'll just go to the big corp.

Should I go more by what I believe? Probably, but I also don't have a lot of options in my extremely basic suburban R1 zoned city.
