Bud Light is finding out the hard way. LOL https://finance.yahoo.com/news/bud-light-sales-continue-to-go-flat-184618646.html
The problem is for most products like razors, beer, etc. there are two or three major companies that own multiple brands. All of these corporations are “going woke” because the largest investors in 90% publicly traded corporations are the big-three asset management firms (which are woke) and/or the USG (which is woke). Furthermore, a lot of the asset management firm’s portfolio is from the USG. A solid majority of the US economy is either directly or indirectly funded by the government. If they don’t “go woke,” most corporations will be punished by these major investors who have an incredible amount of power. As such, the USA is becoming very Soviet-like in many ways, with politics intruding into business and personal life, an increasingly Brezhnevite and byzantine bureaucracy, increasing limits on free speech, government “cooperation” with the mainstream press and internet platforms, malinvestments due to central planning, and hiring decisions based on criteria other than competence. One can expect Soviet-like outcomes: decline, dysfunction, and disintegration.

Yes. First of all a business is to make a profit. Alienating patrons by getting involved in politics is a bad business move. Better to remain silent if nothing else, unless you don’t want the business of people with opposing political views.
This is especially true with woke politics. Most people who oppose that political view in particular feel like it is being crammed down their throats…. because it is. More of this is likely to occur because of that alone.
The woke crowd is particularly interested in changing America at a fundamental level. They are hedging their bets here. They can afford to loose a few congressional seats and presidential elections because they are changing the culture without having to create laws, by creating environments: schools, businesses, and organizations where this type of political theory can flourish. Not to mention their use of media.
I am particularly against woke politics. One of the best ways to stop its spread and begin roll back the tide is at the financial level. Not spending money at places that support this stuff is one way to effect that company and silence them. It also leaves less profit they can donate to candidates who will run on woke platforms.
This woke stuff is particularly tyrannical not to mention wicked and absurd. The best 2 ways for all of us, regardless of political affiliation to help stop the spread of this is to effect the profit margins of companies who support it, and to not vote for politicians who support it. It also makes are voices heard despite the attempt of media to drown them out.
The last thing here is I believe all I have was given to me by God to manage for his purposes. My money is God’s money. I do not think I should spend God’s money at places who support and finance what is directly opposed to my Lord’s will.
Never used to but if a corporation often one that treats its employees like crap is going to give me a woke lecture on being a better person then yeah.
Like if I'm buying a sports bra, well I'm not going to buy one advertised by a guy. Sure its fine if you are selling sports bras to trans women and they are a big market for you. I've also no intrest in watching lgbtq TV shows or movies not because I'm homophobic but because I can't relate.
And Netflix with black Cleopatra, black king Arthur, black British monarchy and aristocracy and other European figures in history well that's stupid and disrespectful to both European, African and African American history.
Was watching Bridgerton on Netflix and the Queen of England is black and there are black aristocrats and somehow racism and African slavery died out before 1807. I mean Britain the most class based society imaginable, where the poor toil and live hard lives as serfs, an empire that's invading a quarter of the world, enslaving thousands and committing mass genocide where ever they go and discriminating against people based on their religion is going to let black people be aristocrats and a black woman be the queen of England. If the real queen Charlotte was black in the British empire she would be picking sugar cane in Jamaica and whipped harshly. Where are the real black stories of interesting black people who achieved greatness or were great adventurers?
I guess Anheuser-Busch didn't thought the impact will be so massive. They wanted to show other companies that consumer cattle won't do anything no matter how much we insult and degrade them.
Will this happen again with other product and company? I'm sure this happens again because postmodern commies who took over advertisement and streaming services, are convinced their ideology is superior and everyone has to believe that coal dust is the new snow.

Depends. this is about truth in marketing, which I support whole heartedly.
Everyone should have known lite beer is for sissies... so that was truth exposed. unfortunately their audient had been so "duped" and stupidified over decades they were shocked. So they have to be careful being so honest, if they are lucky to survive. Also, most men should know that beer is what is causing their huge beer gut that is going to kill them later in life.
Nike... blah... I don't buy their expensive crap, didn't even pay attention.
Ford "soft"... again truth in marketing. most of us know those $70k Raptors will blow a tranny pulling some trans kids. So Ford woke makes sense again, truth. No way will Toyota go woke like that. They have no tranny or engine issues to speak of, it make no sense.
it's big companies and gotta wonder why they do this. it's largely stupidity to validate the feelings of a small market, or the govt apply pressure to normalize in culture.
If I start seeing carrots marketed as woke, I'm gonna protest... by not buying. I don't buy limp carrots.
I don't want to hear about politics when I go eat somewhere. That's my pet peeve. I don't drink beer so the Bud thing doesn't matter to me... but I work in D. C. and you can't go anywhere without hearing about some barista's latest diatribe about whatever. Bro you make $12/hr we're not calling you up to rush you to the oval office to serve as Special Advisor for a reason. I said "extra shot". Just give me my friggin drink and STFU. Left or right. I may even agree with your opinion. I just don't want it shoved in my face 24 hours a day.
I very rarely outright boycott companies. There are some companies I try to avoid though.
Politics only has a minor influence in most cases. It's about their business practices, or because they are getting too big or becoming a monopoly.
There are some companies I just don't like giving my money to. That's especially true with near monopolies. There are been far too many mergers and acquisitions, which destroys competition. I try to support the little guy when possible - "little" might still be big, but not nearly as big as some of the near monopolies.
Not only will I not buy certain products from woke/liberal/America hating/men hating/racist as against Whites companies, when it comes up in conversations I inform students of the reason too. So me being against a product has more effect than just an individual person not buying it.
May as well use the liberals' own tactics against them.
Well in regards to Bud/AB or really any cheap beer company, it's very easy for me to boycott something I never drank in the first place.
Target however is much more deserving of permanent boycott, but the problem there is all of their alternative competitors are almost as bad anyway.
Businesses need to stay out of Politics. The mass majority of the US does not support WOKE policies. However, they seem to get all the press. Is it so far a stretch to see that if you support WOKE you piss off a HUGE percentage of your customers?
Many companies are seeing if they go WOKE they go BROKE.
Bud Light, well, well, well... This iconic American brand seriously fucked up and fucked up on the most basic level. AB hires this Wokey female from Harvard and puts her in charge of the flagship American beer, what could possibly go wrong?
Perhaps AB had to hire a woman for some reason and felt the Bud Light brand was bullet proof... what could she possibly do to harm the brand, right? Hey AB, never hand a monkey a loaded gun.The "wokeness" goes far beyond marketing campaigns that are at the behest of financial and government elites and have neither a commercial basis nor do they maintain a company's fiduciary duty to shareholders. Note also that if there were not so much concentration in many industries, there would be more consumer choice and it would be harder for companies to insult their customers without paying a huge price financially.
No, but I do support punishing companies that align themselves against woke culture by not financially supporting their business, because apparently being "woke" mainly means thinking all people (actually "all") are equals and deserve life, liberty, and the chance to pursue happiness.
"Get with the times or be left behind" is my preferred catchy boycotting slogan.I'm not too worried about it anymore.
I don't wish ruin on corporate America. We'll all lose if that happens. They just need to get their heads screwed on straight again. It'll happen.
Wokeism is now on the run. I see signs of that being the case more and more lately.
People forget. I worked for target from 06-14. People boycotted target for donating to pro-choice and gay positive candidates around 08 if I remember correctly. Their stock took a hit and then soared to new heights. I'll be more impressed if their sales flatline or keep dropping long term. Most people won't educate themselves enough to know all of inbevs portfolio. As one of my coworkers said, " I'll never buy budlight again. Besides I'm a busch light guy anyway."
YES. The more stupidly woke, the quicker I want to see them go down. Fortunately I don't have to RE-IMAGINE Netflix's Cleopatra gurgling it's way down.
So much fun and so exciting to see how quickly it happens.
Yes, but it's especially important to not work for companies like that. Never encourage or move things forward in the world which you don't want.
I believe that consumers can and should support- or avoid- businesses for whatever reason they believe. EOS. Something called "free enterprise".
There are some companies and stores I will avoid for a variety of reasons. You are free to do the same.
absolutely
it's their choice to sell trash and the customer's choice not to buy their trash
Yes, I have boycotted Coca cola, Nike, Adidas, the NFL, Budweiser, Target and Disney so far. Fox News is on the bubble
I do that without reservation. Bud Light and Target (Tarzhayy) are off my list. So is Nike. The more I hear, the fewer buying options I don't have.
I don't know what Bud Light did but I like to boycott woke stuff, like the rings of power show.
Bud Light is shit anyway though. Of course the rise of wokeness will negatively affect them since the woke generally go for "craft beers".
It is kind of paradoxical though, because Bud Light is made by gay men gargling after giving blow jobs.
Yup. The only way to send a message is to vote with your pocketbook.
