When you work for someone else, with most jobs, when your shift is over, you can forget about work until your next shift begins. You can take a vacation and not have to worry about the business. You go to work, make your money, and go home (or wherever you like). The downside is that you have boss (es) who can tell you what to do, and sometimes make your job more difficult.

When you own your own business, you are pretty much on-call 24/7/365. Every problem the business has - and there will be far more than you can imagine - are YOUR problem, and those problems can happen at any time. It's not enough for you to do whatever it is the business does - you ALSO have to be able to do marketing, customer service, accounting, taxes, ordering, inventory management, maintenance & repair, community outreach, and much more. If you spend 40 hours a week on "the job" (whatever it is that the business does), you'll ALSO spend 20-40 more hours on all of the other parts of the business. You're also the last one to get paid, and if your customers are slow to pay you, or disappear and don't pay at all, or whatever, it can kill your entire business, so YOU, the owner, need to pack away money for emergencies - money that you won't have to spend on your own personal bills or on the business. You can't afford to have your car break down, or a key piece of gear break down, or your building be shut down, or whatever - and most of these problems can only be solved quickly via a large outlay of money.

You'll also learn that businesses are charged more for everything - insurance, utilities, maintenance, remodeling, etc. Everyone has their hand out, and has zero sympathy. If you can't pay, you lose that service, which your business is usually dependent on for survival.

You are your own boss - but you still "report" to your customers, and you'll likely work your business for YEARS before you can think about taking a vacation that's more than a day off or two. It's amazing how quickly your business can fall apart if you aren't around, and if you are a small business, it's likely that it's YOUR hard-earned money that's at risk.

especially if you don't like nor enjoy to work, because you have to do most of it yourself, and then some more

whether you work for someone else or on your own, there's always one pro and one con

if you love what you do, you'll love it... if you don't like what you do, you will hate it...

It’s easier to work for someone else. You go in, work and get paid. That simple.
running own business … dep. what? You have to be involve with everything…it’s amazing to see results and growth… but be prepare to put in a lot of time and be very diligent.
we do all three, work for someone, run and business and trying to work the stock market… obviously not able to do all three effectively… so for now, we just put stock market aside and let it ride… I’ll be more aggressive with it in 3 years or so.

Someone else clearly. Otherwise 80% of small businesses wouldn't fail. I'm a plumber. I wake up in the morning, o to the calls that have been scheduled for me, come home, and go to bed. If I were to be an owner-operator I would have to manage finances, maintain stock and check pricing, answer phones and do scheduling, prioritize certain calls over others and deal with unhappy clients due to that, I'd have to monitor taxes and figure out insurance... etc sounds miserable. Sure I'd possibly make more money in the latter scenario, but is it worth the quality of life? Not at this time.

More risk, more profit or loss. If u run it correctly u will gain Its results. Being employed for someone else is the guarantee u won't put urself in that risk which is easier 😁

it’s better to be your own boss to work alone working for the man you don’t have any freedom and they completely control your schedule and set your pay which could be very horrible and a very bad experience
