I want to go back to college. I am looking at Strayer University online. Is it worth it?

I went to college from 2009 to 2012 for education. I had issues that came up and now want to go back. I'm considering enrolling in the IT bachelor's degree program. Through Strayer since it's all online (My local campus is 60 miles away in Charlotte). Although it's not my ideal program (I would rather do culinary arts) I am pretty decent with technology. I have my doubts with Strayer though.

Given what I know about you I'd say yes. I don't know your education to this point but I would start at a community College. It's so much cheaper and won't make a difference in the long run. Plus your so much more likely to get personal help then you would at a university. It's a FACT that a person with higher education makes more at every stage of life on avg. The trick is getting that education without crippling yourself with debt. Also 30 may seem old to you but in terms of working years. You've only burned 5 years. to a decade. You've got a lot of earnings years. Left till retirement. So education is still a good investment.

If you can't do it at your local community college, don't do it. And don't borrow tons of money, either.

I'd recommend looking at apprenticeships or vocational training first rather than some high-tuition higher ed.

You should get a degree, but use a local university with a better reputation, or use a national group, like the Open University rather than Straya.
