When I was in school we dissected the following:
Baby/fetal pigs
Cow tounge
Cow brain
Cow eyeball
Lizard
Worms
Racoons
Cow hearts
Frogs
Pigs
Fish
Snakes
Did I enjoy it, well yes and no. Funny story but a classmate of mine for $5 ate one of the cow eyeballs. His mom was not so pleased, the human anatomy teacher gave him detention for doing such. It's a good thing he's still alive but he was happy to receive his $5😑😐.

+1 yI’m guessing you never had to do it because you never took biology in your final years of high school? I took university prep bio for grade 11 and 12, had to dissect earthworms, pig hearts, and frogs during that time.

Oh I did took biology but we really never did that, we had books and a teacher who loved to talk lol

*did take (i guess it's more right lol)

Oh I see. I guess it depends on the curriculum.
Yeah, a worm and a frog. They had us in teams of two, and I had to do all the nasty shit because my partner was always too much of a puss to do it. After class was over some of the asshole guys would stick the frog parts in the drinking fountains or down the backs of other kid's shirts.

If Jeffrey was smart instead of eating organs he could have sold them to the black market. If I was batshut crazy I would become an organ snatcher & profit from it.

Haha I was thinking the same, not everyone just becomes a serial killer when their parents are fighting and they're hunting with their dad etc... Jeffrey probably had some other issues too

Haha It could be possible

+1 yWe did it in my skool. It was pretty gross and kind of sad. They farm those things just to kill them for those classes. I guess there are models now that simulate specific biologies, and programs that can do the same. So kids shouldn’t have to participate in that kind of nonsense.

+1 yWhen I was in high school many years ago, yes, we dissected animals. I recall dissecting a frog, an earthworm, and a cow's eye. Since then, animal rights activists have won, and today, kids just watch a video on dissection or do a virtual dissection on an app.

+1 yYes in high school we did rats and frogs.
Oh yeah, I used to live in Milwaukee as well. I even worked on Jeffry Dahmer's Apartment buildings when he lived there.
Who knows I might have said hi to him and didn't know he was a killer

When I was in 5th grade, we went on a Science field trip and had to dissect a frog, but I don't think I participated in that.
When I was in 6th or 7th grade, my weird ass Science teacher thought it was a cool idea to bring in a smelly, dead pig and dissect that and I was like, "God wtf" and I didn't participate in that either. I just don't like the idea of teetering with the dead.10 Reply
+1 yIt is absolutely a real thing yes, to learn about the fundimentals of biology you must learn about anatomy. Which is why you dysect frogs.

Dammn okay, we literally just looked at pictures in our books lol

Yeah i never got to do it either to be honest, which is ashame because i love biology.
- +1 y
Yeah biology was really interesting, I wished I would have listened more
We did frogs, fetal pigs and starfish and others I can’t recall. It was cool to see how everything worked. Groups of 4 though so frog, pig and starfish were the ones that I did while the others were done by other group members

+1 yWe have done that in school back in the day. My school had a huge laboratory with frozen snakes, cows, insects and frogs inside of it but I went to a private school. I dont think public schools in my country do that.

10 Reply 807 opinions shared on Education & Career topic. We dissected the heart of some kind of animal, don't remember which one.
I grew up on the countryside, we'd sometimes get cow hearts to feed to the dogs, so I was pretty desensitized to those kind of things.10 ReplyNever. All we ever did was “disect” owl pellets and like a dehydrated pig heart
