Would I be a jerk for calling in sick again today?

I work for a commercial cleaning company and I dont think there is anyone to cover for me yet. I have a sore throat so I called in sick yesterday. My boss aksed if I could work today and I said I should be able to. Well I still have a sore throat. Would I be a jerk if I called in sick again?

How I see it, your health comes first.


It may be frustrating since you said you may be able to work and now can’t, but it’s better to stay in bed so your sore throat doesn’t get worse if you force yourself to go to work. Plus you aren’t spreading anything if it’s contagious
