Is it ok to call in sick?

I feel so guilty and have a lot of trouble calling sick. But it’s day 1 of my period, usually day 1 and 2 are the worst. I’m in pain, nauseous, diarrhea, fatigued, shaky etc.

I don’t know if I should just go in anyway even though I see myself potentially vomiting and probably having to use the toilet every 30 minutes today

I mostly feel bad because I only work 2 days a week for medical reasons and I also couldn’t work the full 2 days last week.

You can always call in, they just might take that into consideration on if they want to fire you or not. Jobs are pretty lenient, but, there usually comes a point where, if you're not dependable, they may fire you, because it starts to piss your coworkers off

I wouls say if u need to don't tell them it's because you are on your period just say u got a vomiting bug

You should book an appointment with your gynecologist for research. They will take blood test and look inside your vagina. Maybe you have endometriouses. It would be good for you to have that diagnosed.

I used to be like that until I was very mentally unwell and my manager harassed me during my legal right to leave.


What I’m trying to say is always pick your health and wellness over your job especially if you can call in sick. The job doesn’t care about you.

Depends on what terms you are on with the company. Attendance is the number 1 cause of termination at my work.
