Why would a recruiter tell me "it's a mixture of good and bad news"?

Went through 3 rounds of interviews with a company. They stayed late to interview me, they initially said I was overqualified for the role, and we seemed to have a laugh and chat well.

They were making the decision yesterday and I missed the recruiters call, I text her asking if it's good or bad news and she said it was a mixture of both.

What could that possibly mean?

The recruiter called me and told me that they really liked me, but the job wasn't for me and that as the business grows they'll have a position for me. The guy who interviewed me thought I was overqualified for the role.

It could mean a lot of things and we can't really tell you because we don't know the type of role. I have seen plenty of instances where with that its you didn't get the job but they created another job for you based on a need they didn't see beforehand. Not saying that's what happened but that is news I see. It could also mean an offer but pay is not really what you want or plenty of other things. I'd just wait to see what the recruiter says.

Didn't get the job but the next choice if someone declines or 7,000 less Salary than Market.
