Do you get impatient easily with your colleagues?

Are you the type of person who gets impatient with your colleagues for not grasping concepts quickly enough, or are you the patient type or the one who doesn't grasp things quickly?

I've been on both sides of that equation, begging indulgence until a concept is grasped by myself, as well as bearing with and helping a colleague to get the idea of what's going on, so to speak.

My patience would bide, unless a colleague would grab the reins, cutting corners and expediting a project to the point of completely altering it's intended goals with the clear intent to be done with the present project in order to move on to pushing through yet another half-assed project.

Then my man-bitch would come out, reminding the colleague of the original purpose of the project.

In the case of myself being slow on the uptake, sometimes I felt that I had to carry a cross in order to reach the aha point, sometimes with understanding by my fellows, sometimes not.

Depends on the situation. If they are grappling with difficult algorithms (in my line of work) I can be patient. If they are not grasping simple design concepts, I'm usually impatient.

Internally, yes. I have to deal with apprentices more often than not. That daily experience alone reminds me that not everyone has the same experience, skill and work ethic.

I grasp things exceedingly quickly but I don't get impatient with my colleagues -- it doesn't help anything.
