Why do people do wrong to you and then when you tell on them to the authorities in charge, they get mad at you for telling on them?

For example, if someone bullies you at work or at school and then when you tell on them to HR or the school principal, why do people and the bully get mad at you for doing the right thing and not tolerating their crap and telling on them for trying to harm you.

Growing up there was always a rule about this, it goes... Snitches get stitches.
There will always be bullies in life, as a man you need to learn to deal with them on your own. Physically or otherwise.
